The
Food Forest is a permaculture farm producing 160 varieties of organically
certified
food; it is a busy centre for people interested in learning skills for
a
sustainable
way of life through short courses and it is the base for a consultancy
service specialising in the design of ecologically sustainable properties
Permaculture
Design Course with six of Oz's top teachers
David Holmgren, co-originator of the Permaculture
concept, will lead The Food Forest teaching team at Permaculture Design
Certificate Course this April/May. Permaculture offers a model for the
sustainable occupation of the Planet by humans; it is a design system which
reflects the great truths of traditional knowledge, basic scientific principles
and the values of a truly civilised society.
This inspiring and practical way forward
is now taught in over 100 countries and the hundreds of thousands of graduates
of Design Courses have had significant impact around the World.
Permaculture can be employed on any scale, from
balconies and family homes to large farms and regional communities. It
promises a stable landscape, sustainable living and self reliant children
with the confidence to design a vibrant future for themselves.
This unique course enables participants to see
some of Southern Australia's top permaculture sites and offers the chance
to undertake a major design project of their choosing. Dates are 21-25
April , 4-6 May, 19&20 May to allow for project research, site visits
and preparation of the designs. |

The Food Forest
is being developed by Annemarie and Graham Brookman and their children
Tom and Nikki, to demonstrate how an ordinary family, with a typical
Australian income can grow its own food and
create a productive and diverse landscape.
We are committed
to the sharing of information through our courses and field days and at
this website you will find some of the technical information that
we have learned in 15 years of sustainable gardening, farming and building.
